Our girl is a fighter! She's been stable all day today and continues to do more and more breathing on her own. Her numbers (blood pressure, brain pressure) have continued to stay low! Her eyes have been fluttering and she continues to react when the nurses and doctors come in to probe at her. Leave her alone when she's sleeping! She is also able to maintain her body temperature on her own now! The doctor's were also able to remove the fluid lines that kept her core at 98.6 degrees.
She's a fighter and continuing to make wonderful progress! Every little bit is great!
Continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for all your wonderful thoughts and notes. This means so much to Devin and her family and Kay will be so touched when she sees the support she has. Keep them coming!
We love you Kay!

Hi Kay,
Today is Thursday and I am excited because I know tomorrow is Friday and I get to come and see you!! I really just can't wait to see you again. Today I was at a meeting and my client had this saying on her desk and it immediately made me think of you so I am going to repeat it just so you know it!
Everyone gets an angel... you can't always see them, because sometimes they are invisible.
Sometime they are your husband when he kisses you...(and we all know that Devin is an angel) sometimes they are a small treasure you find.. an angel might even be your friend. (and we know you have a ton of those!) those angels are quiet, but what they are really saying is "pink clouds! a good day is just around the corner."
So my words today for you and your family are: Somewhere out there is an angel looking out for you. You are going to get better. Each and every day is going to be better than the day before.
Love you and can't wait to see you!
Courtney
Hey Kay Kay,
I was thinking today about when you had your tonsils out and I tried to make you those terrible waffles. I promise this time I will NOT try to cook for you again! I'll just take you out or order you something.
I'm so proud of the wonderful progress you're making. You always amaze me! I can't wait until you're smiling and making me laugh in person again!
Remember what we've always said "You're the wind beneath my wings"!
I love you girl!
Monica

"The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it."
I have never been in your presence and not felt overwhelmed with your spirit, Kay. As I sit here, alone in my quiet basement, reading the prayers and wishes of your family and friends, you have yet again, overwhelmed my heart with your spirit! What a gift you have. As you take the time to heal, know that no matter how weak your body is right now, your spirit is as strong as ever! It sounds like today was a good day. I pray for you tonight, that tomorrow is even better.
