Her Personality is Shining Through

We're starting to see more and more of the Kay we know and love! Last night she opened her eyes 3 times! Devin was even able to see one time, which is wonderful! She's still not opening them on command, but we know Kay, she does things when she wants to.

It's not even noon and she's already moving around tons today! We know she can't be still for long!

Another amazing day for her!

Keep praying for her, it's obviously working!

More updates this evening...

We Love You Kay!

Yey!!! I'm so excited about how great you're doing...opening your eyes, moving around (you're singing Hey Ya in your head, and trying to shake it, aren't you!) Ofcourse you have to take as much time as you need to heal, but I can't wait until we're shaking it on the dance floor again. My ankle is all healed so now I'm just waiting for you.
I love you Kay!

Hi Kay,

I've just got back after a weekend away and caught up on your blog. It's so encouraging to hear that you are continuing to do well.

We probably haven't seen each other for about 25 years but I want you to know that you are constantly on my mind at this time.

All of your family, near and far, are willing you through this and it's obvious reading all your messages that you have the best of friends doing the same.

Lots of love from Caroline

ON MY MIND

I remember you at seven…
It seemed a perfect match with Monica.
Two perfect little colleen’s.
Soul mates you were from the very start.
Papa and I always loved to see the two of you together.
Mischievous yes but just so perfect friends.
I remember you at eight when we welcomed
Maureen into our lives.
I remember you at nine…
Still shining…growing, searching having fun.
I remember you at 10…
Vacationing together, you were always a natural,
Part of our family.
Do you remember all the clams?
I remember you at 13, your spunk was rising.
I remember you in middleschool the hours of dancing,
Preparing in our living room for the talent show.
I remember our conversations in those teen years, letting you know I would always be there for you.
I remember all those highschool years, the drama and the
Tears, along with all those cheers and practice.
I remember you at sixteen…sweet, sweet Kay.
I remember you at 17 and 18 all those proms and pretty dresses.
Becoming you… our party girl.
I remember us together sharing the joys of Monica’s wedding plans
The afternoon tea party…you were with me all the way!
Making it all so much more special with Monica so far away.
I remember your wedding day and breakfast the next morning, kissing goodbye and wishing you the best.
Now you sleep quietly and we all remember you…sending you our love, wishing you our best.
We have always wished you the best!

God be with you Kay...We Love You Kay!!

Hey Kay,
Still thinking about you. I don't know what's more devastating news, your accident or that you bit the bullet and got married!!!! hahaha Congrats on your nuptials. That's awesome. You and Devin have been together for so long. Glad things worked out. I'm glad you are having better days. I wish you nothing but the best and speedy recovery.
Love,

Kay, as Devin said, we have a real spiritual commeradie. We believe in the same things and I love you kid. I love that you came to me in your time of need and I am looking forward to seeing you again. I know that Joseph and Pop Pop are with you right now. Stay with them to heal and and we will see you when you wake up.

The prayers are out in force at Montefiore and we will continue to do so until you are wide awake and then some. I am waiting for you to take over as a RN as I am ready to retire but I want to make sure that people are still being taken care of after I leave.

Love you -

Dear Kay and Devin,
I wanted to share something with you guys today. My daughter Tayah, who came to see you with me the other day, She was going to sleep last night and I heard her praying ( which she rarely ever does)and I said to her it is so sweet to hear you praying, and she said to me " I have to get closer to God and get to know him better so he can save Kay and help her get better" Then of course I started to cry! The little things that come out of a child's mouth can melt your heart! Well I am so glad to hear the progress today! We love you so much!!! keep on fighting!

Love Always,
Your Cuz Ellen, Michael and Tayah!
