She's Shining Through

Kay's vivacious personality is continuing to shine through! She was a little sleepy today, but that didn't stop her!

Even after her surgery yesterday Kay was ready to party! Devin, Stephen, Magda, Aunt Nuala and Desi were all hanging out and singing with her until 10-10:30 pm! She was loving it! No doubt she was singing to herself with them! Only Kay manages to throw a party in the ICU!

Kay continues to be able to recognize and respond to people, especially her darling husband, Devin. She must know how amazing he has been! She's been touching him and rubbing his head, and able to blow him kisses! Regardless, she still doesn't believe he'll let her have all the offerings in the contract he put together. Every time he tells her she can have a day buzz whenever she wants she continues to gives him the okay symbol..as if to say "yeah right". She may not be talking yet, but she definitely knows how to express herself!

Kay loves the poster Melissa made her with pictures of all her friends. When it's shown to her she points and smiles! Yeah, she remembers us!

Today, Kay's cousin Doug came to visit her for the first time and she waved at him. Guess she was looking for some new visitors!

The nurses are talking about giving her a trial run and just hooking an oxygen machine up to the respirator. This will help Kay get more used to breathing on her own. Just another amazing step she's taking towards recovery!

Everyone is so happy that Kay is back and bringing smiles to all of our faces, as we're used to! Her strength has been amazing and we know she will keep up the fight!

Continue to keep Kay in your prayers and leave her your words of encouragement. Before we know it she'll be back on the dance floor shaking her tailfeathers!

We Love You Kay!

Hi Kay,

It's almost midnight here so I'm just going through my usual pre-bedtime routine: Wash Face, Brush Teeth, Read Blog!

Each day is making better and better reading but it looks like I'll soon have to get myself a book! The progress you're making is amazing and I know that this whole experience will soon just be a short chapter for your autobiography.

Keep up the good work.

Lots of love from Caroline.

Kay

This is very good news you are doing a great job letting yourself heal. I will not be able to read your progress over the weekend but you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I thought since I can't send you messages over the weekend I would give them to you now.

SATURDAY: I can't read your progress but I know you are going to have a great day try not to party too much you still need to rest. Keep it going.

SUNDAY: I know today is going to be even a better day with everyone going to church today giving God even extra prayer time. Keep it going.

Well I can't wait to come back to work on Monday to see how well you have done.

Kay,
Tina just told me that your getting your pink slip from ICU soon.(probably Monday or Tuesday) In the two weeks that you have been ill, I don't think ANYONE could have predicted the speed of the progress you have made. I know
your family is ecstatic, and Devin is thrilled to have his bride back.
No partying over the weekend, you need your rest.
Love ya Aunt B
Please rest over the weekend
